Figuring out my way

I have been reading a lot about low carb high fat way of eating and it makes so much sense to me, especially when I read about the medical and chemical and hormonal things that happen.
As a veteran dieter I tried Atkins, of course, and I did lose 6 pounds in the first 3 weeks. Then nothing. I even gave up fruit, which I love, and still did not lose any weight after that initial weight loss of 6 pounds in the first 3 weeks.
I tried Mark Harmon's Eat Fat Get Thin for 8 weeks - and lost no weight - maintained the plateau. I mean everything stayed the same.
So maybe I am giving up, and accepting me as I am at this less than desirable weight, but the way I eat now is to try to eat only foods that are one ingredient and naturally occurring, including fruit. I don't eat bread and pasta, but I do eat corn on the cob when it is in season in the summer - with real butter on it. I know olive oil is a processed ingredient, but I use it, too, on salads. Some other processed foods that I eat are fiber one cereal, La Tortilla whole wheat low carb tortillas, so I am not now grain free. I also use protein powder, another processed food. And I am still maintaining this plateau! I figure if I am going to maintain anyway, I may as well eat foods I love, as long as they are otherwise healthy.
I kind of have given up on losing weight since I have been at a plateau for almost a year, and I am now working on strength training and I do feel really good doing that. I feel myself getting stronger, more agile and have better balance. I can see muscles in my back! Woo hoo!
I am not sure if what I am doing is right. I do track all my food and exercise, so I can go back and see what worked when, but that doesn't mean it will work now.
So, I have no answers. Only trying to figure out my way.
