My Coworkers Think I'm Nuts
Tuesday, August 30, 2016
As you may know I recently accepted a promotion out of my old job (like 4 months ago). I got a new group of super fun peoples' to work with, but they think my habits are a little strange.
Lately, I've been looping around the building whenever I use the restroom, since it requires walking around and using the stairs (its the easiest way I've found to keep moving throughout the day). Well, they think I'm a little weird because of it. I mean, for someone who's just going to the bathroom and coming back, it doesn't really make much sense that I would take about 10 minutes to come back. I've explained what and why I'm doing this, but they don't get it.
I don't really need them to, I'm going to keep doing what I need to do. Every step counts, and if I go home with 6,000 or more, I'm even more likely to crush my 10,000 step goal by the end of the night.
Its always strange to me when I get my 10,000 steps in and still have time to relax. I mean, don't get me wrong, my feet are still killing me by the end of the day, but its funny to me. For as long as I can remember, I always said that I'd never have time in the day to get 10,000 steps in the course of the day, so why bother. But now I'm seeing that I not only have the time, but I still have time for the leisurely activities that I still enjoy.
My goal for this work week is to get 10,000 steps everyday. I know I can do it. I've already proven to myself that I am capable of doing it, if I just stop quitting. I've already got my sneaker on, and my ice packs in the freezer. Let's do this!
