The morning after the night before!

There's no 2 ways about it--I'm grouchy!
It's the result of a lack of sleep-
-which is the result of a couple of things---
--a thunder storm which lasted most of the night---
-and a German-Tess-- (as in dog!)-who doesn't like wind---and thunder and lightning just make it all worse!

Lord love a Duck---Sleep does not come to one, when a dog pants and drools, on your side of the bed.
Periodically too, her paw would come up and scratch whatever limp I had near the edge of our bed---
I wanted desperately to go downstairs--turn on a light--- show her that the world was really OK., but--(that big "butt" again!)---I knew the Apple strudel was in the frig---and I knew I was hungry---

Isn't it odd what goes thru your mind, as you stare at the ceiling , at 1am--at 2 am---?
-like-----maybe if I had of walked more yesterday, I could be asleep right now---
----are all my kids OK?-----why does our only daughter love to box?--
--How come Himself is asleep----Will Beau survive?--

Eventually I did go downstairs----
I ate the apple strudel-----
Tess the dog was sleeping by then--as was Himself----and Beau----

So, you see, I'm mad--at myself----I'm grouchy!-
Stupid Apple strudel---stupid me!

But, it is a lesson----
This morning, I've already walked--both Germans--
I've been on the Dreadmill--
And if it storms to-night, I'll read my "Spark Membership Pledge"--- maybe paste it on the ceiling!

    Make today an awesome day!

Nothing you can do about an all night storm. But the strudel is another story. Night eating is a very special problem so maybe stash goodies like that in the freezer. I use music when I can't fall asleep. I use the radio and earbuds. Very helpful. Anyway, not the end if the world. emoticon

I was utterly exhausted the other night. I did all my spark stuff two hours earlier so I could get to bed. Then I lay there for those two hours, wide awake. And not happy the next morning. sigh.

As to STORMS, Mmmmmm...love 'em. They soothe me to sleep, if I'm not peering out the window in wonder of their beauty! :)

start thinking of all the nice clothes you can buy or wear when you get to a desired weight I have bought some clothes myself for losing at least 5 lbs before I went on a trip with my hubbby in September I had lost 18 lbs all together but had gained 4 pounds back still doing my best to lose another 5 lbs. I'm right now at 15 pound so have between 3 & 5 lbs before I get to my 1st 20 pounds. looking forward to it. also been going to senior exercise classes since about Aug. 2016. good luck I had been working on my weight loss since Mothers day 2016. good luck

I had this problem the other night! I try to stay out of the kitchen after a certain time, but the challenge is real!

I had that problem on my last little girl. She was terrified of storms and I had to get up and walk the floor holding her over my arm. It seemed it always made me think of all the good things I could eat. Thanks for sharing this.

Now you can close that day and start fresh on a new one! YAY!

The ceiling sounds like a good place! Climb right back on the healthy horse! All we can do is keep on trying and then trying again!!

I hate waking up in the middle of the night! Having to because of "hydraulic pressure" is one thing, but what makes me crazy is waking up and not knowing why. I run through a check list when it happens, if there is no obvious reason: Do i have to pee? do I hurt? Am I worried about something? If I can't figure it out, I have concluded that sometimes, at least, it is "unconscious pain", as a dose of acetaminophen or naproxen (OTC pain meds) will have me asleep in about 20 minutes.
Second the vote for trying a Thundershirt for Tess, they are really helpful for some dogs.
Also, if you are hungry in the middle of the night (I mean hungry, not just, "oh, yeah that yummy stuff is calling my name" appetite), maybe you need to eat more veggies and fruits, so you are fuller. If the problem is appetite rather than actual hunger, maybe you are still at a point where you just can't have some foods in the house. I try to freeze left over goodies, if possible. Otherwise I give them to family and/or friends if I am afraid I will cave in to that food's siren song.

Nothing like a night of not sleeping much to turn one into a grouch. I am one that has a tough time with sleep, yes have spend many a night looking toward the ceiling and thinking, thinking---which does not help getting sleep either.

I read in bed before I fall asleep. Sometimes when I awake during the night and my mind wanders I pick up the book (suing a flashlight so my guy does't wake up), read again and I'm back to sleep, Try it, you'll like it.

I've heard of a special fridge that has a time lock on it- like in a bank- that will open only at certain times.... Have no idea if it's impacted by power outage, though....

I totally understand. Some days even I would rather be around me and it typically happens when I haven't gotten enough sleep. And yes, everyone else in the house is snoring away! Hope you have a better night tonight.

My dog thinks the safest place to be during a storm is sitting on my head. I've kind of gotten used to it - when a girl's gotta sleep, a girl's gotta sleep, but the constant drooling of a 60 lb chicken dog doesn't really make for a good hair day.

Oh, no! Ack is right. I finally put a rocking chair/recliner in my bedroom so when I have nights like that I don't end up in the kitchen. I turn on my iPad and read or do something to keep my mind occupied.

I've had fur babies who were afraid of storms. It's impossible to console them! At least Tess wasn't howling.

Tess needs a thunder shirt, google it, supposedly calms dogs afraid of storms. You need a thunder shirt, not sure if it comes in human sizes.
What. Is. Strudel. Doing. In. Your. Home? The Germans sure didn't buy it. Primary rule of snacking. If its not there you can't eat it. If Himself wants something like that he can go out and get it. Just saying. Stand up for yourself and right to be healthy!
Your daughter loves to box, as in for real, getting hit, or just taking a fitness class? Wow! I suppose that is no more dangerous than the policeman son or the flying one. Not the safest career choices. A Mum will never stop worrying about their kids, but unfortunately its their choice :-( A friend has actually been convince to meditate. This is one of the top things health experts recommend. I think its time you looked into it -very calming, bring down the anxiety (and cravings) a notch. If there was a way to calm Beau.. there is such a thing as doggy massage which is very soothing for a dog when done right.
Lotsa options other than going crazy!
Get out there and get it done!

Love the pic of the child,he reflects my mood at times, and,it seems yours as well.
My dog Chica does not seem to be fussed about storms but noises in the house startle her.
She wakes me out of a sound sleep to go outside,I stumble out of bed to let her out but if it is raining she
decides she can wait and goes back to sleep. Does it ever cross your mind that we are doting slaves to our pets? emoticon

Our dog was the same... and you'd get into that cycle of if I go to sleep now I'll get 5 hours...if now 4 hours and so forth
    1151 days ago
Our girl, Rosie-the-horse-dog, hates storms too. She is truly psychotic with loud noises and looks for a place to hide. We have a small closet underneath the stairs that serves as her bomb shelter.

Well, put me on the list of bad night of sleep...had caffiene...so I couldn't sleep and then...and there's that "end", much like your "butt", Duckie, my DH (that D can stand for things other than Dear) started in with the worst snoring ever...and making noises I have never heard come out of a human before...he is a mouth breather! He used to yell at me for snoring, but now it's him! I told him lose some weight, you never used to snore before you gained weight! Sigh! That photo you posted of the the steaming lady...it's me! Dang! So here I am with 4 hours of sleep and it's unusually warm today, like it was yesterday, and I am grouchy, too!
