Here We Go Again

I cannot believe we are already moving on to week seven of the BLC. I'm down 4.7 pounds, which means I have 3 weeks to lose 3.3 pounds in order to reach my goal. I know it can be done, but I wish I had done better during the first six weeks, sheesh!

Yesterday I spent a good deal of time cleaning my basement. We don't have a finished basement in our house, but have tons of exercise equipment. My hubby does a lot of weight lifting, and somehow we've acquired lots of pieces over the years. I used to lift very regularly, and I know it's something that I need to get back into for many reasons, but for some reason, it's the hardest thing for me to work into my routine. I figure with cleaning up the basement some, it will be a bit more inviting.

My son turned 16 last Friday and passed his driving test, YAY! Just a little less running around I have to do. I didn't know how I would feel on his first excursion out on his own, but we both did fine. I wasn't nervous at all. I think I know he is such a responsible kid that I just trust him. That being said, I do realize he is 16 and sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to 16 year old behavior, so I still prayed while he was out emoticon .

I have a friend who has been texting me regularly regarding her workouts. She is planning to do a full Ironman next September, and wants to be accountable with her workouts. It is getting me thinking about how little I am doing lately. Not that I would ever consider a full Ironman, but I might be up for training for a spring or Olympic distance triathlon next summer. I keep saying I want to get back in the pool, but I'm all talk and no action there. Maybe it's time for me to act, right?!

Fall colors are really starting to pop around here. I feel like it will be peak colors this weekend, if not already a little past. I hope the weather cooperates and we are able to get out and enjoy it! I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their week, and has a lovely weekend coming up! emoticon

    It is interesting to note how many women KNOW they need to be strength training and yet find it so difficult to work it into their routine. I wonder why we are so resistant? emoticon

    Some weeks are spot on, while others are not. There's been a few challenges that I totally failed...but, I picked myself up (which for sure wasn't always easy!), and continued on, taking it one day at at ime!

    Sounds like you're on your way to getting a plan of action in place and started with regards to working out (my basement is unfinished too at this point and the first thing I setup was the workout area). I have no doubt you will meet your BL goal!

    Keep up the awesome work. It sounds like you will not have any problem reaching your goal. You are focused and will make it happen. Cleaning up the basement is a great way to motivate yourself so you can lift a few weights. I need a ton of light so I have to go to the gym, but hopefully you got lot's of sunshine in that room.

    Yahoo! on your Son passing his driving exam so awesome! When my Son took the driving test the teacher had him back up around a corner. Hello! I never had to do this, things have changed for sure! HA! well, he went right up and over the curb HA! but he passed with everything else. Thank goodness!

    The First adventure on his own will take your nerves up a few notches but all of a sudden you start to relax somewhat HA! I still worry, it never ends when you have children. But keeping the positive they do great!

    Sounds like some training for a triathlon would be exciting! like I said the goals are in your mind and you're taking action so this is awesome!

    Keep up the great work, and you will reach your goals in no time.

    Congrats on your progress. I run 5Ks, 10s and recently my first half marathon. Nothing like paying a registration fee to get you moving consistently! emoticon Six years ago, I never thought I'd run a mile!

    Have you checked out the virtual runs and walks on Spark? They are free and might be a good first step too.

    Keep doing what you're doing, it's working!

    Awesome blog! You have been really busy with family life. Working out has to be scheduled like any other appointment, especially when you are busy. You can do it!
