Here is Himself----
He has a weak knee---wears a knee brace--but--(that big "butt")----He refuses to use the 345 walking sticks and canes I have in the front hall.
He prefers an ordinary piece of wood---
And so we have long sticks of wood , posted at every door, and----at every walkway around this house and Heaven help me, if I move them!
I used to be mortified , years ago, with anything out of the ordinary, with Himself----not anymore!
You see, Himself is not only extremely stubborn, hard of hearing, but he is very unique-
I believe his children will remember him forever because of these traits!
Our daughter was telling me recently , that she has become obsessed with hand washing, after coming in from anywhere. She says she remembers her Dad, when she was growing up, refusing to even talk to her, until she washed her hands.
She remembers him telling her--"Wash yer hands"--"Wash yer hands, wash yer hands"---
He is still that way!
All 5 of our children remember the utter chaos, when growing up, if they ever spilt a glass of milk----which used to occur almost every meal time. Of course the children would look at me and we would try our best to mop up the mess without their Dad noticing----which he always did!
And then there are the pieces of newspaper, or boxes lying around , which himself still covers his head with , on a rainy day---no matter that we do own numerous umbrellas.
I suppose , being able to accept each others idiosyncrasies is what has kept us together for years and years--He is very supportive of Spark people--of eating healthy--and -inspite of his complaining, he does love my Germans--(as in dogs)--and his family--(not necessarily in that order)---is very fair---and takes great care of his patients---(altho speaking of Patients--is not a man who has a lot of patience in his old age!)-
And so--the weight --my weight---201 -----Hopefully it moves soon--- To meet my goal of losing 5 lbs by Nov.30th, there is a ways to go!
Lord love a Duck!
