Week One - done

So, I've completed week one of the Tame Your Sweet Tooth Challenge. I had a couple of instances where I wanted "something" but I think for me it's emotional and stress related. As you probably know, I started a new job in July. Apparently, I'm terrible at picking jobs and am not sure of the security of this particular job in the long run. I knew they were going through a "reimagining" of the organization, but what's going on is more than what they led me to believe. I was incredibly isolated at my previous job and that was part of the reason for accepting this job. Well, we just moved to a warehouse - six miles from everyone else. I work for a university and we are now not even on the campus. A warehouse. My walking now is around the smallish parking lot or to the convenience store up the road. Not nearly the joy of walking around campus. Of course, there are no food options, so I have to take my own lunch. Which is good.
My cat has also been a bit of stress. She is 17, almost 18, and has had some problems over the past couple of years. Today's gift - she is on the couch next to me instead of hiding under a desk. I'm not sure how much time we have left and I am realizing that that is adding a level of stress to me as well.
I recently ordered a Bissell Little Green Machine to help clean the carpet from kitty throw-up and the occasional litter box accident, which is a little more frequent these days. Gave it a test go today on a non-cat related stain (plant related). I think I'm happy. I did get the pet specific cleaner, so I'll give that a go after I see what I think of the "test" spots.
