This was Himself and I---not married too long--pre-children days!

You see, I am a Registered nurse---a graduate of The Hospital For Sick Children, in Toronto-
Himself was an Intern---had graduated with a University of London degree in medicine, and was from Jamaica.
And we both were working at the Civic Hospital in Ottawa----

I was Head Nurse in the Premature and Intensive care Nursery----and Himself was sitting in the nursing station--MY nursing station, flirting with MY student nurses ---
In those days, there were dances in the residences of the hospital--- Interns and Nurses usually went to them-----so-----I was dating an Intern from England---and there was himself dating someone or other--and we "Double Dated"-- You see, Himself had a car-- It was a Mustang convertible--- ----We all piled into his convertible----danced the night away, and I went home with Himself---I never knew what happened to my date from England.

And that is about it!-----BUT --(that big "butt") --himself met me in a Nursery--probably never clued in, that from then on, his life would be full of babies---5 of them--plus cats, kittens, puppies, grown dogs, and Grandkids, with never a dull moment---

The children all had to be educated---It was an interracial marriage --It was a marriage not approved of at first by both our families---but-somehow, it has lasted 50+ years---
Would I do it all again-----probably --Would I have 5 children again----probably not in these times---but I can't imagine not having anyone of our grown children!---

Sometimes I wonder what keeps 2 people together, for so long---What keeps families together---brothers and sisters, grown-ups now--- Why do they all chat away on their I Pads, and visit one another-----My own brothers and sisters are not all close! --And yet my grown children are--
It must have a lot to do with ""Respect""---"Understanding their differences""--- "Having parents who love them unconditionally"--- Parents who accept their differences -and ""BITE THEIR TONGUES"--- You know parents only have half a tongue! Lord Love A Duck eh!

So, there it is--- I guess it all boils down to "LOVE"!

So, that's our story ---
