Welcome December!

My goodness time flies! December is here again! If you have ever heard anyone say that time goes by faster the older you get, as a person who is over 50, in my mind this fact is true.... what do you think?

What is your daily goal for each day in December?

This month I will focus on...

... making sure I have adequate carbs, fats, protein and fiber at the end of each day.
...making sure I have adequate calories each day.
... remaining processed wheat free... since I feel so much better without wheat in my diet.

This month I also plan to focus on moving forward with some things I've been having negative thoughts about. The negative thoughts and a feeling of being stuck have kept me from doing what really inspires me. I will push the excuses aside and take the initiative to move forward with a few projects I've been wanting to work on.

    Each year of our life, the year represents a smaller fraction of our lives. When we were ten, a year was 10%. At age 50, a year is only 2% so it appears to "move" 5x faster. It's okay with me...

    I'm not sure these days how to negotiate how to have goals with how to not give myself reasons to feel I am falling short, so I don't have any specific goals set for myself this December. However, I am considering weighing myself more routinely. I know a Brian Wansink study showed that people who weigh themselves four times a week during the holiday season didn't gain as much weight as those who didn't, even in a country like Japan, which is a rather slim society. (I think of most slim societies- which are my models for how to eat, more than slim people in the States are- as being places where people don't count calories and don't know how much they weight, so I've resisted weighing since I reached "normal" BMI range.) I would really like to get to New Year's not feeling much regret over how I eat this season. I know in general what constitutes smart eating; I feel I'm reestablishing that after some pendulum swinging from some experimentation I started last winter.

    I'm not quite at 50 and time is hurtling along, so I hope it doesn't get too much quicker!!

    Time definitely goes by faster the older I get...

    My goals for this month is to walk every day - a decent, power walk - I've done it two days in a row now so it feels likeI can maybe continue this little streak

    Oh boy does time speed by ever faster! I have readjusted my goals into smaller chunks so I can actually succeed at them. My focus right now is drinking my water and getting 10 minutes of exercise 3 x a week!

    I think time does go by fast, too fast. emoticon
    Not sure what my goals are, but I do have something written down this time. So maybe I finally have some plans yay.
