Sick Puppy Means Interrupted Sleep

Our puppy, Zeus, had a rough day yesterday. At first, I thought he (and the other two dogs) were clingy because they sensed that I was stressed and in pain. That may have been partly true but when Zeus threw up the first time, it changed my opinion rather quickly. Poor baby! I had to wash the bedspread and replaced it with a blanket to protect the mattress. He went to sleep clinging to me as I lay back on the blanket. About 1-2 hours later he hopped up and was very sick before I could catch him. We now have the cleanest bed in town. The last time he threw up, I hopped up so fast that it scared one of the other dogs and she had an accident on the floor because she was so upset. I guess seeing me limp around trying to clean everything up wasn't terribly helpful as these things go. Zeus got me up at 6am this morning with tummy spasms. I thought he was going to be sick but wasn't sure so I stroked his tummy gently and it stopped. He just had a bad case of hiccups. LOL I dodged that bullet. Being the clown that he is, he decided that he wanted to play once his hiccups stopped. Life with a young dog is never dull, stressful but not dull. Now he has decided that he wants his breakfast so I must go. Maybe a nap is in my future!
