I ate salad for about a week then my holiday stuff started so I didn't do much meal planning. I set some goals on my google calendar (which I live by now). I got in about 1 walk a week. I was hoping for 3, but that was 1 walk a week I wasn't getting before. Yay, progress! The yoga I only did sporadically.
So I finally stepped on the scale & I've for sure put on 15# since starting my new job. Which is on top of the 20# that I've been packing around for over a year. Ugh. I mean I know how it happened & I know how to change it. I just have to commit to myself.
My employer offers a free weight watchers program so I start that on Thursday. I wasn't successful doing points on my own, but I'm hoping with a bit more guidance I'll do better.
I'm going to continue to build on my activity goals. Still aiming for 3walks a week & yoga/flexibility training 2xday.
I'll continue with my other non scale goals as well. I finished up my 2016 goodreads challenge with The Age of Miracles. It was basically a ya version of On The Beach. Missed the opportunity to be an interesting sci fi coming of age novel. Too light on the sci. My goal for 2016 was 24, I was just shy with 22. I read some really good books this year. Almost every book I read is recommendation worthy. You can check them out on goodreads if you'd like caue I'm not doing the rundown here. Setting the same goal for 2017. Hopefully I'll hit it this year!
TBS is killing me with great original comedies. They did a binge weekend & we recorded several shows. We've powered through People of Earth & Search Party, both weirdly funny & different. I'm currently watching season 2 of Angie Tribeca (like right now, it's on the tv.) The absurdity is genius.
I also watched Gilmore Girls Revival. I loved it. I kept seeing things pop up on facebook & twitter about people being disappointed, but I liked it. Yeah, it wasn't perfect, but was it true to the characters? I felt like they were. Actually I kinda wanna watch it again.
OoOh! Sherlock is back! Ugh the first episode will get ya!
We did our Christmas tradition of going to the movies, picking up Chinese takeout on the way home, & watching the Doctor Who Christmas special. We saw Why Him. It was pretty funny. Nothing special, but funny. Couldn't convince my husband to see Rogue One because he had made plans to watch it with this brother later in the week :( Don't worry, I went to see it on New Year's Day. I thought it was kinda dark considering The Force Awakens was such a nostalgic walk down memory lane, but I liked it. Doctor Who was a nice goofy buffer episode before the next season begins with his new companion. I'm excited. I got some Donna Nobles vibes from the ads!
I plan to continue my twice weekly blog over at baubles&knots. My job is going well. I really feel like I'm in a much better place.
Now that I'm feeling better mentally I hope that feeling better physically will come more easily. I know it will be challenging, but I think being in a better mindspace will remove barriers.
Here's to getting my spark back!
