January 23, 2017 WE REAP WHAT WE SOW
Many of us seem to have a lot less than others. We shouldn't really focus on that but we do. They seem to have better cars, nicer homes and money in the bank. When we attempt to measure up to what they have, we are focusing on the wrong things. God tells us we harvest what we plant. We also know it as we reap what we sow. While we shouldn't compare ourselves to others, but instead look for ways we can give what we do have to help others.
Galatians 6:7b-8 "You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit." (NLT)
1. Write down your financial blessings.
2. List what talents and skills God has blessed you with.
3. Know you will always harvest what you plant.
4. Pray and go out and begin planting seeds according to God’s will.
Dear Lord, we sometimes get too busy thinking about what others have and what we don't have. We get so busy thinking about these things we forget how blessed we truly are. Remind us today the blessings You have given to us and show us how we can help others and begin to plant seeds that will allow a harvest to grow that will give You glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
We will always harvest what we plant. What things are we giving to others or investing in that are pleasing to God?
We should invest the time we have helping others if we want more time.
We should give what money we have to help the poor and we will be blessed with more.
We should use the talents we have to help others and God will strengthen the talents we have.
When we don't do what we should, we won't get what we want.
Galatians 6:9 "So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up." (NLT)
God tells us to do good and give to others. He tells us to not grow tired of giving and never give up.
