January 24, 2017 IT WILL FADE AWAY
For many of us, what we hold near to us, talk about all the time or what we save to purchase are all things of the world. Rarely do we hear someone say they are saving for the riches in Heaven. However, all we have on earth and all we desire to have will soon fade away. Riches on earth cannot go with us when we die. Let's seek out what God wants us to do to store eternal riches rather than earthly ones.
James 1:11 "The hot sun rises and the grass withers; the little flower droops and falls, and its beauty fades away. In the same way, the rich will fade away with all of their achievements." (NLT)
1. Write down what earthly things you are saving for.
2. List the ways you are saving for riches in Heaven.
3. Know God's riches are far greater than any other.
4. Remember the earthy riches you gain will soon fade away.
Dear Lord, help us today to know what we have on earth will soon be gone but the eternal riches You have in store for us will be forever. Show us what we need to do to store up eternal riches for You. Help us to know when we share our love, give to others and tell them about You we are storing up something that will never fade away. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Fame and glory on this earth is temporary. Blessings from God are priceless and eternal.
It is the heart that makes a man rich. He is rich according to what he is, not according to what he has. -Henry Ward Beecher
Those who are rich with earthly wealth may be perceived as insecure, phony or proud.
We need to remember to store our riches up in Heaven rather than on this earth.
It is hard for a rich person to get to Heaven because he may not be able to give up all he has on this earth.
Matthew 19:23 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.'" (NLT)
There is no amount of money that can be used to obtain a spot in Heaven.
