Feeling discouraged....

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

I have a really hard time at putting things into words so please be patient with my ramblings.

I have had some pretty good days and some not so good days with both food and activity. My weight is being stubborn as ever, not sure what I should be doing. I get frustrated and want to give up but I refuse to do that. I need this for myself. I am trying to be optimistic that all things will work out.

One day at a time! One step at a time!

My back has gone and said to me “I have had enough for a while”. I have tried pain killers, anti-inflammatory, muscle relaxants, heating, icing and currently wearing a back brace and nothing seems to be helping, guess I just need to rest it. I am doing what I can in the way of activity by just slowly walking around my house so at least I am getting in a few steps. Still the frustration comes! I get bored of just sitting and doing nothing. But I need to heal.

On another note:

It has been nearly one week since Avery (Batgurl250) and I started our new Backsliders Support Group. We now have, including us, 11 people. WOO HOO! If you wish to join us our link is as follows:

    Shannon,

My back went out and I tried everything as well. I have had to have injections in order to just do ordinary daily living. They have helped me a lot and are not painful at all. I thought that they would be horrible. They take about 2 weeks before you feel the difference. Have you had your back xrayed. I did and I had to have an MRI too and this is where they found it was degenerative disc disease and that I have a back of an 80 year old women and this was about 10 years ago.

I know that this blog was a while ago was wondering if you are doing any better now?

I hope you are feeling better. About 20 years ago I had some awful, debilitating back pain. I was diagnosed with a herniated disk, and surgery was recommended. Then one day, it magically improved and went away. Though I have endured back pain since then, it has never been as bad as that. I probably would have had surgery if it had not improved.

I do hope your situation is at least tolerable.

Thinking good thoughts for you, Shannon. Back pain is really tough. I suffered from it for years. I finally found a chiropractor who knew how to fix it, and he also showed me some stretches and exercises I could do to help keep the pain from coming back. Of course, your condition could be a lot more serious, so if you haven't been to a spine specialist, I encourage you to go and find out what's going on. Sending lots of healing love to you.

It's a process. Check out the yoga poses for pain management on the start page today. Hang in there. If you are doing everything correctly and you are continuously not loosing weight, you might see if you can see a nutritionist. For years I struggled to lose weight, then they removed my thyroid, and BAM! I could lose weight like a normal person. A nutritionist will look for loopholes in your diet, then suggest medical issues that might be causing it. Good luck!

I'm sorry about your back! I had a thoracic spine injury that thankfully improved over time. You are doing great and are fighting. You are a warrior!!
