The search for shoes continues!!
So, I ordered from zappos a pair of Asics gel venture, I have a pair, that I have had and loved and still get good wear out of since 2012!!
So, I ordered a pair to replace them, and nope!!
1. They are too stiff. No give at all.
2. Right foot felt snug, left foot was like a boa constrictor had wrapped around my foot and was squeezing the life out of me.
So, back they go.
I have had two successes with zappos, and probably 3 failures/returns.
So, this morning I got them ready to return and ordered a pair of New Balance speed ride in a wide.
I am keeping fingers crossed that eventually I find a pair that fits properly and I can actually make it to the track in.
They werent exactly the color I wanted, I tend to go for a gray with some blue or a fanciful pink/purplish style, I lean to really girly or trail shoes.
The new balance are trail shoes and reviews say they tend to have a wider toe box and lots of room, lets hope....
I pronate which means after awhile my shoes tend to expand on the outside and I need shoes that accomodate my orthotics.
So, speaking of walking yesterday was a beautiful day, sunny and warm, little wind, I walked 3 miles and I loved it....
Today, the sun is trying to show behind the hazy sky, but the 18 mph winds are not my friend.
In fact, wind is my kryptonite.
That and ill fitting shoes.
I dont have fat feet or ankles, in fact my ankles are dainty and maybe this adds to the need for more support.
But my arches are very low, in fact, almost flat and I walk on the outsides of my feet, creating a need for a wider shoe.
I can tolerate cold and heat and sun and even a little rain, but the wind doesnt work for me.
But, I see bright shiny sunny warm days ahead and hopefully soon, and hopefully I will get in lots of miles.
Heard back from the docs and surgery is scheduled, as of now, for March 7th.
More in-depth details to come soon.
