I have been sick for 2 weeks now. Earlier this month I got a respiratory infection. I powered through, drank lots of fluids and stayed hopped up on cold meds. After 4 or 5 days I was feeling better. By last Saturday I was feeling pretty much back to normal, just a little tired.
I went to bed early last Saturday, but early Sunday morning I woke up with the worst belly pain EVER! I spent hours in the bathroom where really unpleasant things were happening. I couldn't eat or drink, and was just miserable. I have the capibility to work from home (luckily!) so after work Monday, I went to the doctor. By this point I was in so much pain, it hurt to even walk. Turns out I had diverticulitis. She wanted to admit me, but I convinced her to treat me outpatient.
By Wednesday, I was feeling better. Thursday, the fever came back, and it wasn't long before I was coughing and wheezing again - respiratory crud is back!
I'm still running a fever this morning. I'm run down. I still have NO appetite, so I'm struggling to eat, but I'm trying to make sure I get plenty of fluids. Sometimes just the thought of putting food in my mouth makes me gag. I'm a pretty big girl who likes to eat, so this is new for me!
Here's the problem - I know that I need to rest and let my body get over this, but I really do not have time for that kind of nonsense! I can't miss work, my counterpart is out right now. And my husband and I are opening a second location for our vape shop in less than 2 weeks, so after work is just as busy as my regular work hours!
Oh, and I expected a big drop on the scale this week - after all, I spent 4 days on clear liquids and the rest of the week struggling to eat. But no, just down a couple of pounds. What's up with that??
