I'm Speaking in Sparks!
Since I started speaking in Sparks, my whole world has improved. Speaking the Spark means that I've learned the lingo and I'm fluent in this new language. I understand the culture of SparkPeople, and it's great! My thinking is more positive, and I'm a different person-a SparkPerson!
1. Focus: I look each morning at how I can make improvements to my life, and find encouragement on the Sparkpeople site.
2. Fitness: I get in my exercise each day. There are very few reasons that I will accept for not doing at least a 10 minute walk.
3. Fire: I find motivation every single day on how to eat right and great recipes to help me make healthy food for my family.
4. Positive Force: The positive people and inclusive attitude on Sparkpeople.com really helps me to make lifestyle changes and to spread the Spark! One principle that I have been learning is the discipline of eating until just satisfied.
I learned the Okinawan concept of Hara Hachibunme: Eat only until you're 80% full. Don't stuff yourself! Eating until you're almost satisfied is a great way to live. The people of Okinawa have great longevity because of their eating habits and their great sense of community.
