I was just sitting here thinking about the tortious and the hare story. The same infamous story of the tortious and the hare racing and because the tortious not giving up he wins despite the fact that he doesn't quit. Until recently, I have always just thought of this story as two separate animals with human characteristics like the story gives them. I was just thinking about how I have been like both the tortious and the hare at different times and well, the same time at times. I think the hare represents times in my life when things came too easy me and I didn't have to try so I wouldn't and I would sleep so to speak. Having this mindset would eventually cause me to lose by not growing as a person in any way. I could lose the 30 pounds in a month by drinking water and walking, but gain it back because I went back to old habits. I am also like the hare. If I continously make progress every way possible, I will make it to the finish line. I must remember to pace myself and not to sleep on my goals.
