May 18, 2017 WHY WE TEACH

As children, we learn so much. We have parents, grandparents, teacher, aunts, uncles, etc. who are with us and teaching us many things. Those role models we have teach us right from wrong. They help us by giving us what we need to live. They love us and care for us. We begin to trust them as they teach us because we see they truly care. God cares for us. He loves us. He created us and wants to teach us to trust in Him. When we decide to read His word and apply His teachings, we will know they are true. We will trust in Him and want to obey Him and share His word with others so they can trust in Him as well.

2 Timothy 3:14 “But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you.” (NLT)

1. Write down ways you trust in God.
2. List some stories you can share with others about trust.
3. Trust in God and have faith He will guide you daily.
4. Look for ways to share your stories with others today.

Dear Lord, we come to You today to thank You for all You do. We do trust in You completely in all things. When we are going through hard times, You are near us. When we are enjoying the life You have given to us, we feel Your presence. When we are doing Your will, we feel Your love, Your protection and Your guiding hand. Help us to teach others how much greater life would be if they only would trust in You. Show us what to say and do today to help others better know You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

When we are faithful to God’s word, others will see Jesus in us and learn to trust in Him as well.

We can teach others how to trust in God by our actions and our words.

Reading God’s word can help us know how to share it with others so they can trust in Him.

God cares for us and wants us to care for others by sharing His word with them and helping them so they will trust us and learn to trust in Him.

When others realize we are speaking truth about God and what He has done in our lives, they will come to know and trust in Him.

Proverbs 22:19 “I am teaching you today—yes, you—so you will trust in the Lord.” (NLT)

We are to teach others what we have learned from God’s word so they will know they can trust in Him.
