Ball Games New & Old
Monday, June 26, 2017
Our weekend plans started with watching playoff baseball games of grandson Dyla, and then we found the vintage games also being played this weekend in Cornish, Maine. Yesterday I posted a photo of the old Ball game. Today I'll post a few new ones. Watching a child's ball game can be exciting, but watching a full day of the series can get tough on the derriere. It was a perfect day for baseball- warm, partly cloudy, with a slight breeze.
Dylan's team won all three of their games, and will advance to the Maine State Championship Games next weekend.
While Dylan was playing on one field, Brandon was an outfield umpire in another game at the fairgrounds. Yes, we also cheered for the ump at the other game!
What I loved most about the games was the crowd. Lots of people came, and there was a feeling of good will and kindness towards the other team. The old saying is very true! It doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's how you play the game. These players gave their all, and did not give up. I plan to live my life that way too!
