Progress Update #22

Good news! My leg is finally starting to get stronger! I was able to complete a Silver Sneakers class this week, followed by chair yoga. The instructor suggested that I should stay after the Silver Sneakers class for the chair yoga so that I would be less sore. She was right! I was slightly tender but not sore the next day. I was wiped out for two days but that's okay. My PT said the teacher made a great call. She said feeling really tired is normal and that the more I work out, the stronger I will get. As my stamina increases, the mind numbing, wiped out feeling will decrease. This is good news!

Overall. I was pleased with my workout. I didn't think I would be able to finish it but I did. The teacher told me to sit down the minute my legs got tired. I did that. I rested a minute and then got back up. Rest and repeat. Finally, I stayed down and finished the workout from a seated position. But.....I completed the workout! Yea me!

I have only two PT sessions left. My therapist said that I won't need therapy if I continue with Silver Sneakers and Chair Yoga. Both classes work on balance and strengthening, which is what I do in therapy.

On another note, all of the closets are now cleaned out. I need to put two boxes back into the last closet. I have several stacks of pictures that I want to put in albums for our two daughters.
Once I've completed that, we can mail the albums to the girls and I'll be finished! Then...onward to the last three kitchen cabinets and three bookcases. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
