I love potato chips, but I'm selective. My absolute favorite is "Perfectly Salted" from Starbucks.
Last night I had an evening meeting after work. Instead of going home to eat (and not wanting to leave again)...I did a few errands and then had to decide where to have dinner.
I did not make a good choice. I went to Starbucks and hoped they would not have the chips. But they did.
I bought the chips and the mozzarella tomato sandwich but before eating I entered them in the Spark People Nutrition tracker to see the damage. It wasn't totally horrible...still had 200 calories left but the fat% was higher than it should be.
I ate slowly and when I felt full there was quarter of a sandwich left and half a bag of chips. I sat for one moment longer then ignored the "don't waste food" thoughts and threw them in the garbage. I took one last look at those lovely chips and resisted the urge to grab them back.
I gave myself a silent cheer and went to my meeting feeling satisfied instead of guilty.
