What a "Healthy" Thanksgiving looks like...

So I am Canadian... that being said we in Canada celebrate Thanksgiving a lot sooner than America does, This coming Monday Oct 9 (Second Monday of October).
Well I love the traditional Thanksgiving foods like a moist turkey, Stuffing and Pumpkin Pie. Well, Since I am on a journey to better health I need to find ways to make this family centred holiday work for my healthy lifestyle. So I made up a list of the things we will half to make (to keep family happy) and tweeked things a bit for our needs plus added new things... So here is what our plans will look like.
For apples (for family) we will offer Carrot and Celery Sticks and homemade hummus.
For the Main Meal:
Juicy Turkey, Whole FoodsGravy with homemade Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes made with Olive Oil and sea Salt
Butternut Squash salad with Roasted Brussel Sprouts and Carrots
Cauliflower Rice with Green Split Peas
Spinach and Kale salad with Toasted pecans
For Dessert we will have some Healthified Mini pumpkin Cheesecakes and of course for everyone except me, Pumpkin Pie. (I don't want it nor like it too much).
I will be choosing to skip the apples and dessert as I don't need it. I will be sticking to 3 oz of Turkey, 1 small scoop of Mashed potatoes, and the other half to my plate will be a combo of all the 4 other side options (all veggies). I will make sure to follow the plate model and eat 25% protein 25% carbs and 50% veggies.
