trying to view the big picture

I had a laugh this week at myself. I was working out on the treadmill and decided that I would do a quick 30 minute walk, trying to get some steps and mileage for the day. I did not do much of an incline, so at the end of the 30 minutes, I realized that I had gone further than I burned in calories. WHAT? Are you kidding me? Here I am doing in 30 minutes what I could not accomplish in June of this year. I had to laugh at myself for grumbling about something so ridiculous. I was trying to look at the minute point instead of the big picture of truly how far I really have come in 5 months. But today, I did the calorie burn, with the crazy incline. My gripe, my tracker on my wrist doesn't record my steps or activity because I am holding on to the handle bars and not moving my left arm. Gee Whiz! SMH, I feel like I can re-do an old Huey Lewis and the News song..... I WANT a new tracker....Bwahaha

    First off, good for you! Doing 30 minutes on the treadmill is great and I wouldn't worry so much about the calories burned.....any exercise is good exercise.
    Now to the activity tracker...yes, you have to move your arm. spin makes me nuts because I'm going all out and if I hold the handlebars mine doesn't even show my heart rate going up! Think I read on Spark that if you have to hold the handles on the treadmill you're going to fast or have too steep an incline.
