Trying To Slowly Increase My Activity

I am pretty much finished with organizing the cabinets, closets and bookcases in our house. It has taken me several months to finish. I filled the trash cans many times, donated tons of stuff to Good Will, sent things to our oldest daughter and shredded over 20 bags of old documents. Today, I am boxing up items that are cluttering up various corners and tabletops. Sometime during the coming week, I will wash the front door and it will be given a quick coat of paint. We get eastern sun that is hot and intense every day. This really takes a huge toll on the way the front door looks. The paint fades and chalks even if we use expensive, quality paint. It has been a big issue since the day we bought the house! I expect that the whole house will look better once it is done.
We have hired a handyman to help with landscaping issues and chores that hubby and I just can't complete. This morning he trimmed all of the bushes in the front and weeded the front flower beds. The man will come back and help us put some white rock in the areas where the heavy rains have washed the dirt away. We also plan to put a stone path in the front garden (which is pretty large). Then we will ask him to paint the front door. I can't believe how good the front of the house looks already! It is neat and tidy, just the way I like it!
I am continuing to do Silver Sneakers and Chair Yoga classes several times a week. I just finished week 5. I am starting to notice some differences! This is exciting! The other thing I have started is increasing my daily step total. For example, today while I was boxing up clutter, I managed to rack up close to 8,000 steps. That's awesome considering it is only 2:30 in the afternoon! I figure that I will most likely reach 10,000 steps for the day today! That is a big accomplishment for me. I'm sure that I'll be tired but over time the fatigue will disappear. One step at a time is my plan!
