This morning the pastor started a new series on the "Connection of Intimacy." Should be a good one and it was a lot of fun watching/listening to his karaoke of "Little Darlin". He's a nut! The teen class had a video lesson today from the Revolution series and the subject was anger. A good one for all of us. After church the teens headed out for the corn maze event with two other youth groups. Picked them up about 4 and thankfully it was halftime so I didn't miss much of the game.

After lunch Tim headed out to buy used and in good condition Pergo flooring as it was a great price and will save us some funds there. This meant I had the house to myself for almost three hours! I spent the time watching football....

...and putting a month's worth of meal plans together. The meal plans have definitely not been happening since we moved and I was feeling the need to get this going again.

Healthier, cheaper and easier knowing what is coming up!

My second thing to get busy on again is the soda habit. Today was day one and this time I am going to stick to it.

I know I will feel better and the scale should reward my efforts at some point, but the overall health is what I'm after. (Thank you Trish for the blog on addictions....this is definitely one of mine!)

Once the kids were home I finished up the ball game and then it was time to help Maegann with her Macbeth project. I haven't done much except answer a few questions and help her think through some things. She's doing a great job and hopefully she has covered everything like the teacher expects. If not...edits tomorrow night!

Isaac had dinner at Golden Corral tonight with Patrick so he's well fed and now playing basketball on the laptop. Hopefully he will sleep well tonight and be rested for school in the morning.

Tomorrow.... grocery shopping after I drop Maegann off at school, homeschool with Isaac and then my day is free other than meal prep.

Woo Hoo for 3 hours of alone time!

Way to go on working on the soda addiction again. I'm still soda free since the beginning of the year and now finally attempting to go as low of sugar as possible. My brain comes more alive every day that I go without a bunch of processed foods & carbs - my biggest addiction. We can do this!!!!!

I cleaned out both my freezers yesterday. Got them organized and now know what exactly is in them. Threw out old freezer burned stuff and I'm ready to work on healthier cooking and meal planning again. Feels good.

I have been a huge Steelers fan for about 30 years now. I haven't watched a game in two seasons I just got tired of all the dramatics and just love to watch for the game not the commentary.
I want to get better at meal planning but I am not sure how. Any hints?
Sounds like you have really gotten everything in control and that is so wonderful! You are great motivation for us. Thanks.

I often wish that I could meal plan, but Hubby doesn't know what he wants to eat until it's time to eat. He is eating a few more veggies and last time we were at a restaurant, he drank milk instead of soda. I wonder if he knows that he is changing to better eating. I need to follow his eating methods because he only eats what he should and doesn't gorge himself. I need better portion control.

Good job refocusing on meal planning! So wanting to have a steady income to allow for that.

emoticon Well done on getting the month of menus planned - that is a great way to stay focussed and on track, and a good reminder to me to do some planning too.
Sounds like you had a good day. I wish you a wonderful week ahead.
