I know you're feeling frustrated because you had your first "bad" food weekend since restarting this journey almost two months ago. I know you're angry at yourself and feeling physically ill because of the carbs and fat you've consumed in the past 48 hours. I know this because this is your pattern...at least it used to be, before you started getting a handle on this weight loss thing.
When you get on the scale tomorrow morning after you get home from your mom's house (don't lie...I know you will), please remember that the jump on the scale is NOT FAT! You have consumed a lot of sodium and have not consumed enough water. Yes, it'll probably take several days for this water weight to disappear, but I can guarantee that you'll see an extra loss by weigh in next Saturday IF you work hard and leave this weekend in the past.
You ate poorly because you spent the last 72 hours caring for your mom post-op. You had great intentions and ate healthy for part of that time...you even got a workout it. It is NOT your fault that you ended up having to stay three times as long as you had planned. If you had it to do all over again, you'd make the same choice because your mother needed you.
What I want you to do is FORGET IT. Forget that you ate like crap. It's done and over with. You can only learn from it and do better tomorrow. I want you to go home tomorrow, do some meal prep and get in a nice, hard, sweaty workout. Then I want you to put the scale in the trunk of your car and stay away from it until Saturday. Can you do that for me? Please? Get back on track and know that next weekend will be a better weekend.
I'm always thinking about you and want you to feel strong, body and mind. There will be setbacks but two steps forward and one step back is still momentum in the right direction.
