I finished up the 6 week boot camp challenge on Friday (October 20th) and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised and thrilled with my results. I didn't finish at the top or win anything, but I still feel like a winner. Over all, I lost 9.5", 4.7 pounds and my body fat percentage went down by 2.4%.
Pushups and most upper body strength exercises for me have always been a challenge. I was never able to do a full out pushup. Always had to go from the knees. At the last day evaluation, I did 8 full pushups!! They weren't beautiful, but they were pushups none the less.
Unfortunately, I know I could have done better. I wasn't exactly strict and structured with my diet and I struggled to balance the added workouts with a limited calorie intake as I was constantly hungry. Thankfully, it is starting to balance itself out now and I am excited for them to do another challenge. Until then though, I will continue to work with my trainer 3 days a week and continue to build on my running.
My suggestion to anyone thinking about taking on a structured challenge like this is to JUST DO IT!! It was WAY outside my comfort zone but I learned so much and actually looked forward to every day. Yes, it was tough and challenging and there were days I didn't want to go, but I pushed myself out the door every morning and there was never a day that at the end of class I regretted going.
