Thought and Prayer for Friday, November 3, 2017

When we think about a positive attitude, we may think about people who are so sugar-coated they make other people sick with their sweetness. They may appear fake or phony. A right positive attitude isn’t fake, phony or super sweet. A positive attitude is one that shows others we are not moved to negativity when we don’t get our own way. It shows people we don’t waver when things happen we don’t expect. A right positive attitude reflects to others we have God in our hearts and He is in control of our lives. We are positive because God has a plan for us and we know our final destination. When we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and attitudes, our right positive attitude will show through.

Ephesians 4:23-24 “Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.” (NLT)

1. Write ways your attitude is positive.
2. List any negativity in your life.
3. Ask God to remove any wrong thoughts in your mind.
4. Seek His help and let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.

Dear Lord, help us today to examine our attitudes. We pray You will renew our thoughts and attitudes and remove anything that is hindering our attitudes from being like Christ’s attitude. We know it is possible to put the negative things out of our minds when we put our focus on You. Help us to fill our minds with Your words. Give us the right attitude today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

If we want to influence others in a positive way, we need a positive attitude.

We should have a good attitude in all areas of our lives so we can be a positive influence to others.

A good attitude will get more things done through others than a rotten attitude.

A right positive attitude is one that is focused on God knowing He is always in control.

We don’t have to go around being sickeningly pleasant all day long. We study the attitude Jesus had and strive for that same attitude.

Philippians 2:5 “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.” (NLT)

God is able to give us the same attitude Jesus had when we give our lives to Him.
