I just read the article “Putting the Cheer Back Into the Holidays”
I enjoy read the article I started my weight loss journey in October 2015 that holiday season I did not do well I gain 6 lbs by January 1. On January 2 2016 I had a goal and made a plan to put myself back on my weight loss journey I track my food, got a journal and wrote what I wanted from myself I still do this but I also don't beat myself up I keep working on me. By May 2016 I loss 8 lbs slow but it was a loss this motivated me to continue on and make this a lifestyle. I decided to only do what I know I can do for the rest of my life by May 2017 I loss a total of 50 pounds (I did gain back 4 pounds). This is a lifestyle and in life there will always be up and down high and low, I keep moving never giving up.
During the holiday seasons from Halloween to New Year’s Day I enjoy by following though and sticking to my plan.
For Halloween I buy mini bags of pretzels and if there are leftover I enjoy eating them. Thanksgiving Day we (my family) share the cooking everyone brings a dish so it’s not too stressful on the host physically and financially. After dinner on Thanksgiving Day we have a grab bag and to pick a name for a Christmas gift.
The Saturday before Christmas its a family get together we have all kinds of treats once again this is a family effort from everyone very simple but it work for my family, we also exchange our Christmas gifts.
I love the holidays and enjoy them with my family and friends. I eat what I like I have learn not to stuff myself. I am only going to celebrate a few days during this time of year, but there will always be some type of celebration a birthday, graduation, wedding, baby shower, anniversary, a cookout you get the point a few celebrations is not going to side track me from a whole year journey of a healthy rewarding lifestyle.
My action plan is to stick to my healthy and fitness lifestyle and not worries about a weight gain. I will enjoy every celebrations as a gift and keep the cheer in my life.
