Time to Hustle!

Monday, November 27, 2017

I met a very fit and healthy looking gal (in her 40's!) at the gym the other day - told her how I admired how fit she was and proceeded to congratulate her on all of her success. She smiled....thanked me and said, "Can I tell you a secret ?'s not that I don't love exercise...because I DO, but if I didn't eat clean, I wouldn't be this fit or have so much energy." ((BooM!))

Nice gentle kick right in the pants for me....::::and just what I needed. I was like - Oh! emoticon I know this is true....::::"easy to say"....::::"such another matter to DO and harder to DO - consistently". emoticon my achilles heel right now ...unfortunately.
Now don't misunderstand...I LOVE my complex carbs (veggies & fruits), lean protein and water....but the convenience of "less-than-appropriate-food-ch
oices" recently has been too easy for me to grab and Go what with our craZy schedules. No excuses though - nope... emoticon Just being honest.

My fitness habits are Rockin' and Rollin'! I don't let anything...:::and I mean anything replace it - or stand in the way. If something does come up ....usually a family priority that cannot be compromised, I simply wake up that much earlier and Get Er' Done!

And then there are days I feel like this.... Bahaha! But fitness has become like a friend; so I'm out there no matter what.

But --- It's time to tweak the food thing. Time to become friends with emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon LOL!! emoticon ...:::and time to Plan it all for those busy times.

Thanks for holding me accountable....:::for your advice, your posts on my page...::::always so timely and for being BRAVE to journey along with me. emoticon

I find that my biggest challenge really is the food that I eat. The exercising? I know what to do but for the eating part, it is confusing to me. with all the information out there. I am hoping to meet with a nutritionist one of these days to get some ideas. I wish you the very best with your goals. emoticon

Do your best with getting into eating good food. We sometimes will have a fast food meal, but try to not go there very often----but once in awhile you just got to get the craving over with. On those days I eat a bit less to leave room for the forbidden meals calories and hopefully the fat content.

I keep some things on hand that help me...I love snacking on grape tomatoes, cuties (mandarin oranges) and apples and frozen fruit such as blueberries, pineapple, cherries, strawberries are great to throw into oatmeal or mix with Greek yogurt or just eat by themselves! I have a goal to eat 5 servings of produce daily, but I've been eating even more than that...and it does feel GREAT!

Good reminder from you that clean eating is ALWAYS in style!

Yeah. So true. I often say to folks that flat abs begin in the kitchen. You know this. Like you said, sometimes easier said than done.

Makes good sense and as I heard before, "We can't outrun our fork." .........(though I have tried lol ... But found I had to pay the piper cos it just doesn't work! BUT I learned something pretty interesting today at a gift store. The lady waiting on me and I got to talking about health etc ...... (well you know .. emoticon ) .... She told me she is very tired and has the next four days off and very much needs ....... said she had a stroke this last year and had to ....... get this: STOP drinking GREEN drinks! emoticon ... I was flabbergasted as I swill them down every day! She said "Kale and spinach THICKEN the blood" ........ Again I was aghast! ..... And so when hubby came home and I told him the story, he took the green drink from me and threw it down the drain! ......... emoticon .......I guess I will have to resort to other greens w/ my antioxidant fruits .......... Who knew! ........ Just thought I would throw that one in! .... Anyhoo, good job at the gym! ..... emoticon

It is easy to grab the convenient food and we know that. Love the quotes on this blog and will especially remember the "eating well is a form of self-respect." So important.

You know what to do and you will do it.

Understand how convenience foods take no to little planning and effort but that the effort is worth it.
