Fitness tracker LIES

1st and foremost, THANK YOU to all of the very kind words written on my last post, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all of you Sparkies, Sparkers & Sparkles 😍 I really hate taking photos, mainly because they speak a truth I don't ever want to acknowledge. I have the opposite, I think, of people who suffer from anorexia, (besides the obvious) but I have heard they never "see" the skin and bones, just perceived fat. I never "see" the fat in my mirror, BUT, boy do I in photos! Opposite sides of the same mental condition? I have often wondered🤔. About 6 weeks ago my fitness tracker fell apart, conveniently on about day 110 of a 90 day warranty, grrrr. So, I went back to a freebie one I had. I KNOW IT LIES! Why I have chosen to believe the very generous calorie burn is a personality flaw, I am sure. Which probably explains more about my weight plateaus this past month or so. I know full well, when I walk 2 miles on the treadmill I burn about 200 calories, but my lying tracker said I walked 1.5 miles and burned almost 600 calories! BOO! I have been eating on the high end of my calorie recommendations which was NOT a good idea. Sigh! Ok, rose colored glasses are off, and I am fully aware of your lies. Fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice, shame on ME! Peace and hugs y'all!

    ARGH!!! Hate it when my fitness tracker is off. My Nike fuel band really over counted the calories burned - just made no sense that I was burning 1500 - 1600 each day! Not a marathon runner. My Garmin makes much more sense - it tracks active calories but doesn't bring them all over so seems to not distort for tracking.

    My experience is that all this is a guesstimate and we tweak as we go along.

    For what it's worth, the Misfit is very accurate AND it doesn't break the bank. You can also wear it when swimming. I've owned several models and find the Shine 2 to be the best.

    I figure if I know how far off it is and IF it is consistent, I can live with it. The problem comes when it is inconsistent.
