AA and the Prayer Medallion

Sunday, December 24, 2017

Every year, I make the 7 mile trip up to Gibson’s Pewter in Washington, NH to get a special coin for someone special. I always find an AA Affirmation Medallion, made by John Gibson.
I honor my friend's journey with one of the specialty coins and medallions that can support the daily journey in recovery.
Some believe that by carrying a medallion with you or just knowing you have a special medallion it can calm you in a moment of need. The 12 step recovery program uses the serenity prayer to help in the recovery from addiction.
I am blessed to have a person who values himself and his journey enough to take the time for meetings. This is the first year that there were no medallions available. Instead, I'll honor him with my words. I am proud of you and all that you do for your family. Your sobriety speaks volumes!
