NO PROGRESS HAPPENING! emoticon

Why can I not get in the mood to get myself going on my path?? I want it, but I guess not badly enough. I KNOW I can do it, I am just CHOOSING not to, but WHY?

My focus right now has to be on getting off the night snacking! It is horrible. I never used to eat at night. After dinner, I was done. Now I want to eat everything in the house when I am not hungry at all. It is rather disgusting because I just keep on and on and on and then I am miserable.

Goals thus far:
Week 1 Add more water
Week 2 STOP the nighttime binge eating

I have to make that rule for myself too--if I eat in the evening, it's almost always CRAP! Have you tried brushing your teeth right after dinner? That sometimes helps me.

I'm sorry this is discouraging--just know that there are a whole load of people who want to reach out and help. I'm one who definitely will. You CAN do this! I promise!

Ate WAAYYY Too many, which awakened the Sugar Dragon emoticon emoticon .. I was craving sweets again!!! I switched into high healthy Fat Mode. Made Avocado and Bacon spread and topped it over sliced cucumber with shrimp on top!! emoticon emoticon .. Thank you everyone for the thoughts and ideas!
I think I am still doing the whole getting over smoking thing and that is why I eat at night. I used to smoke - I would lay in bed and read, get up smoke a cigarette, repeat for a couple of hours (dang insomnia) and now I eat!! I read, get up grab something to eat, repeat.
Tonight I am trying to stay busy and I have plans for tomorrow night so hopefully I can break this horrible habit I have gotten into.
I look forward to trying out some of your ideas

Do you have a hobby that you use your hadns for? Like writing, knitting, crocheting, etc. That helps. if you keep your hands busy. My kitchen, personally, is closed after 7 pm That helps, too, to cut down temptation.

Try some herbal tea with honey. It helps me and helps calm me as well. You can do this.

sounds like we are in the same boat
I have stacked on heaps in recent times.
Perhaps you could help yourself in 2 ways
First calorie counting to give youself about 1500 calories thru the day
Start with a light breakfast, high protein lunch then a small dinner, you can still have some evening snacks like peanut butter on celery or a dip like hummus or smoked salmon with vege pieces, just stay within your calorie range
That way you wont feel deprived but confident you are within your range
    Cheers Richard emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Sonia,

Are you getting enough protein? Are you starting the day out with protein? I am not saying I know
how to do it, you know how much I fail..... emoticon but I do know I do not have any control
over my eating if I start the day out with carbs. I NEED the protein, and I need lots of it for a couple
of days until my sugars seem to balance out. I am not sure you always feel hungry when your
sugars are going up and down, its just a compulsion to eat.

If I eat cereal or bread or sugary stuff for breakfast I will end the day with a whole lot more calories
than the days I start with protein. I think I am one of those Syndrome X people, prone to heart
disease, sugar diabetes and the rest. So I am more sensitive to the sugars. Just a thought, I hope
something helps soon, my heart goes out to you.

Also, keep in mind the devil wants to discourage you, but know we are praying for you!!!

    Love you,

Is there something that's stressing you out? Maybe that's part of the problem. You might want to look at ways to make things less stressful. Also, it's hard to just quit something. So try to think of ways to fill in the time that you've been spending eating. Maybe at first you need to schedule it, even though in the past it came naturally.

How about trying gum, mints or brushing your teeth right after dinner??

These have some times worked for me to stop the late nite munching. It helps make me more mindful & realize I don't even really WANT to eat!

You'll get this turned around. I have faith in you!
