For me losing weight was easy. Maintenance is hard. Not because I don't know the right things to do, mostly because I let myself slide down that slippery slope. If I'm working toward a goal it's easier to make good decisions and prioritize that goal.

Overall it's just my fatigue that gets me. And the fact that sugar DOES give me small energy bosts that other things just don't. But "boosting" once in the morning leads to 3 or 4 or 5 times a day and next thing I know I have a caloric surplus. So then I feel like I have to choose health or energy, and I just stop tracking all together so I don't have to see how much I am failing at eating well. I have an appointment in a week, to discuss the option of one more medication that I haven't tried. But for insurance to approve it, there has to be a lot of criteria met, so I don't know if it will even be an option. Or if it is an option, if it will help or hurt.

In the meantime, I am back to tracking. I have a new system. I have calendars on the wall and a 90-day plan which ends the day after my birthday and 5 days before vacation. I get a star for each day I avoid junk food and a star for each day I meet my 10k step goal. My goal is 120 stars in the 90 days. Still not sure what I want to reward myself with if I reach my star goal though.
