One thing I love about the Challenge Group I participate in is the total focus on the entire person, not just exercising nor just meal planning. My coaches look at the big picture. Yet they ease us in slowly, at whatever pace is needed on a case-by-case basis to help each participant reach their goals. One of my long time friends finds change to cause anxiety, not because she doesn't want to attain the goal but rather, change is scary. Procrastination is easy. I am not knocking my friend. I'm telling you that I'm like her. Before my coach asked me to join her on a healthier life journey as teammates, I didn't believe that I could do it. Now, I do believe that I can make changes. My friend joined the team as she saw my changes and my coach's changes. Weight loss and working out 5-6 days per week.

One of the things I still need a lot of work on is personal development. Although I know I can make changes, I'm still intimidated by things I wish I wouldn't be - or could be. I'm strong in many things. I'm glad to have a group of women to discuss this with. I didn't even know I needed this in my life but it is helping a lot! They post videos every morning to discuss goal settings and / or inspirational thoughts- that we should feel for ourselves. I find myself seeking out blogs or websites with an inspirational thought of the day.

Although I believe i can lead a healthier life, I need to remind myself that I'm enough. Some people wouldn't think I would need to remind myself that... as I have a loving boyfriend (and his kids love me too), great parents, a wonderful sister, brother-in-law, niece and nephew; a good job that I actually like; I love where I live.... but ... in the challenge group, the insecurities come out... The team members- we post pics of ourselves sweaty, after workouts with our protein shakes in hand. We tell each other what we are struggling with: food, exercise, health issues, life issues. We listen & share what worked for us.

What a blessing this group has been to me!
