Calling all healthy eating Sparks

Thursday, January 25, 2018

I got amazing feedback yesterday as far as suggestions for healthier snacks, and helping to control my nightly eating. I tried a few of these suggestions yesterday.

Instead, of eating my kids snacks, I opted for carrots with crunchy peanut butter. I felt better about myself. I did have two helpings though. Clearly, I could not control my cravings completely. When I wanted a third helping, I went to a suggestion of drinking a glass of water. It worked, my craving diminished, and I was able to feel full.

Today, well, lets just say I have 156 calories left for the day and it is 3:12PM. Looks like I will be drinking more water. For me it is a matter of substituting my non-healthy eating, with healthy eating.

I enjoy my bread, and I eat an organic multi sprouted bread, however, I understand that bread is a carb I would want to avoid to lose weight. Normally, I have a slice of toast with crunchy peanut butter in the morning. So what would I substitute my bread with?
I heard cutting out butter and subbing it for olive oil, coconut oil, or peanut butter is better fuel for the body. Do any of you do this and on what meals?

I am open to all ideas. There is really not much I do not like to eat within reason, and aside from gizzards, I will try everything once. I want to know what your healthy substitute choices are?

As for the rest of my day, I am going to be more aware of what I am putting in my mouth, pay more attention to my body for hungry cues, and hopefully get at least a 10 minute workout in.

My wish is all of you are having a great day, and you all are focused on the goodness within you.

Don't worry, you don't actually have to cut out bread to lose weight, it's a myth. BUT there are healthy breads that are better for you than others. And of course eating them in moderation. Any sprouted wheat bread is good...Ezekiel bread is my fave!
