February 1, 2018 BE REAL
Being sincere is being real. We all hope to be real to others but many of us fail. We fail because we are human. We fail because we are usually involved seeking what is in it for us. We aren’t bad people. Just human. However, we can be better. It is possible to live a sincere life being real to others and not living under false pretenses. We can be real when we put God first in our lives and allow Him to live through us. God is real. He is sincere. He truly cares about us and wants us to love and help others. Let’s be real and stop pretending.
Ezekiel 33:31 “So my people come pretending to be sincere and sit before you. They listen to your words, but they have no intention of doing what you say. Their mouths are full of lustful words, and their hearts seek only after money.” (NLT)
1. Write what sincerity means to you.
2. List what ways you believe you are sincere.
3. Know God wants you to be completely sincere in your life.
4. Ask Him where you aren’t sincere and pray He will help you today.
Dear Lord, You know our hearts. You know what we feel and think. Help us to see any insincerity in our lives. Show us where we may be pretending to do good but our hearts and minds are not sincere. We want to truly be who You call us to be. We want to be real, hear Your words, and obey. Show us how today. We can only be sincere when we put You first in our lives. Help us, we pray. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We can only be truly sincere when we put God first in our lives.
Living a life of pretend is for five year olds. It’s time we grow up and living a sincere life for God.
When we live a sincere life for God, we are helping others because we truly want to do God’s will.
God knows our hearts. He knows if we are living a sincere life.
When we pretend to be kind, we are only fooling ourselves.
Proverbs 26:25 “They pretend to be kind, but don’t believe them. Their hearts are full of many evils.” (NLT)
Others may believe what we say even when we are pretending, but God knows our hearts and if we are truly being sincere.
