February 5, 2018 SINCERE HEARTS
Unfortunately, there are people in this world who tend to be in it for themselves. There are those who will stop at nothing to get what they want or think they need. Those people go from place to place trying things to get others to buy in to what they want to do. Their hearts are not in the right place and they are trying to convince others to do wrong for worldly gain. So what do we do?
We need to remember we were not created for this world. We were created to worship God and love God. He wants us to have sincere hearts that trust in Him. He wants us to turn from the ways of the world and from those who want to take us down a wrong path. He wants us to stay focused on Him and do His will. He wants our hearts to be sincere as we approach Him and as we pray.
Hebrews 10:22 “let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.” (NLT)
1. Write about a time others wanted you to do wrong.
2. List the things that happened and the end result.
3. Know God wants you to have a sincere heart.
4. Remember God wants to fully trust in Him in all temptations.
Dear Lord, we know we are going to deal with some bad situations in this world. We know there will be times when we will be tempted by others to do wrong. Help us to stay focused on You by reading Your word and remembering it so we are ready when we are faced with temptations. Remind us in our daily walk with You that You are near and You are able to help us turn from sin. Help us to remain sincere in our dealings with others and in our prayers to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
God has the power to turn things around for us when we sincerely pray to Him.
If our hearts are in the right place and we turn to God, He will help us through any situation.
God wants us to do what is right and keep our hearts full of everything He is.
We have the power, as sincere and righteous believers, to pray and know God will hear and answer.
If our hearts are not right with God, He will not hear our prayers and He will not answer.
James 5:16b “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)
It is possible to be righteous when we keep our thoughts on God and live to obey only Him.
