February 7, 2018 BE HONEST
Being honest means we are free from deceit and untruthfulness. It means we are sincere in our dealings with others. Honesty builds relationships where we can gain trust with others. Those who choose to lie usually lose trust; however, being honest helps us gain trust so we can build relationships with others and share God’s word with them. Joy is promised to those who choose to be honest. Let’s choose to live an honest and sincere life today.
Psalm 32:2 “Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty!” (NLT)
1. Write about an honest relationship you have.
2. List the ways that relationship is a positive one.
3. Know the joys you have with others and God when you are honest.
4. Pray to have honest and open relationships with all you encounter.
Dear Lord, You promise us we can have joy when we are honest. Sometimes the things we have to deal with in life tempt us to lie. Help us, Lord, to be honest with You, with ourselves, and with others. We know being honest is always the right thing to do. Help us to build the right relationships by being honest. We know when we focus on You, You will create in us a desire to be honest. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Honesty is something we can choose to do daily.
There is no reason to lie about anything. God wants us to speak the truth.
Focusing on God can help us be honest with Him, with ourselves and with others.
Joy is promised to those who choose to be honest.
When we answer honestly to others, we are showing them we care.
Proverbs 24:26 “An honest answer is like a kiss of friendship.” (NLT)
Honesty is always the best policy.
