So much better today!

Wednesday, February 07, 2018

I had a little asthma trouble this morning, but coffee fixed it well enough that I could spend some time dancing. Which is another good excuse to drink coffee: not only does it help my (inherited) bum liver, it helps my (also inherited) underachiever lungs. I woke up glad I didn't totally blow the diet yesterday, and I only ate one (unscheduled) piece of cornbread instead of half a pan. I didn't know my mom was making cornbread, and I had to have a piece when I saw it. I make cornbread with no oil and with low fat buttermilk, but Mom makes it the usual way. Still, I was low on carbs and eating a piece didn't make too bad of a departure from the plan, so I'm ok that I ate it. My mom had a couple of pieces she slathered in butter, while I watched. Sigh. There's more butter in the house now than when I was a kid, and Mom insists on full fat milk and other dairy, because she's convinced it's better for you. Personally, I know I get fatter with too much saturated fat, so I try to stay away from full fat. And butter. I love butter as much as anyone, but I know that it's particularly bad for me. Because I didn't feel well, everything seemed kind of pointless yesterday, but today I'm happy that I stuck to the healthy plan.

Good job on eating one piece of cornbread. My down fall is brownies, I can't just eat one. Ever thought about buying smaller packages of the lower fat product just for your use, just a thought.
