February 12, 2018 RIGHTEOUS LIVING

When we think of righteousness, we sometimes think of people who believe they are better than everyone else. We tend to call righteous people those who think they are the greatest in all they do. That’s really self-righteousness. The righteousness God wants us to pursue is when we live on purpose for Him. He wants us to live a sincere life, live intentionally for Him, and be honest in how we deal with others. When we seek God daily, we will know how to live a righteous life so we are showing love, helping others, and doing His will.

SCRIPTURE:
Matthew 6:33 “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write what righteous living means to you.
2. Look up righteous living in God’s word.
3. Pray about living a more righteous life.
4. Seek God daily to help you live only for Him.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, help us to pursue living a righteous life. We want to be sincere in our dealings with others. We want to be humble as we serve You and others. We want to do Your will knowing You will give us all we need. We want to pursue righteousness and unfailing love so we can live the life You call us to live. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Pursue doing God’s will and living righteously by living on purpose.

A righteous person is not one who believes they are better than others; that’s self-righteousness. A righteous person is one who humbles himself before God.

God will use us to do great things when we strive to live a righteous life.

James 5:16b “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (NLT)

When we live intentionally for God, we will be sincere in our dealings with others.

FOCUS:
Proverbs 21:21 “Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.” (NLT)

Let’s choose to pursue righteousness and keep our eyes on God’s path for our lives.
