Bumps in the road!

Sunday, February 18, 2018

I haven't been around for a while. September 8, 2017 I went to see my oncologist for my every 6 month check up. Long story short, during the exam he felt a lump up near my collar bone, inflamed lymph node. Return of my breast cancer, only not in the breast but the lymph nodes. A biopsy and several tests later, I have breast cancer again but it is different from last time, this time it is HER2 positive, we caught it early. So, six chemo treatments later, I am now cancer free, and ready to get back into shape. Believe me, when going through chemo and the side effects, the last thing you want to do is exercise and you have to be so careful of the vegetables that you eat. With another week of side effects to deal with and time to get back to healthy living and eating. Getting back and getting stronger.

Congratulations on coming back to getting fit. I too fought cancer, colon cancer back in 2015. After taking chemo for about 10 months getting back into the gym was hard for me. Started with a friends and trying to keep motivated. God bless you
