Valentine's Day

My mother passed away late in the afternoon on Valentine's day, and even though she was only three months from being 96, it was still traumatic and will take me some time to get past it. She was my best friend and I will deeply miss her!

She loved all of her girls but anyone who knew her - even the nurses who attended to her in he last weeks - were so impressed with how personable and giving in attitude, non-demanding and appreciative she was. Even when she was in pain when the nurses attended to her, she never complained and apologized for being a nuisance.

Even at her age, she was very mentally alert and it killed me that we couldn't take her home.

I know I'm prejudiced but she was a rare and very special human being.
