Endorphins and Observations

The endorphins are turned on today! I can tell you that this Kickboxing fitness camp is very challenging. Today was no exception; it was fitness testing, do as many as you can in 1 minute:
Push ups
Sit ups
Squats
Jump Rope
Medicine Ball Slam
Punches on bag
Kicks on bag
4 Punches & Sprawl
Burpees

I was exhausted and shaking after the workout, but I feel SO GOOD! I’m starting to understand how some people might get addicted to exercise. I never got the feeling after working out at the gym and I haven’t worked this hard in many years.

From WebMD: “That feeling, known as a "runner's high," can be accompanied by a positive and energizing outlook on life.”

I get it now!

Observations:
My 2 day rest gave me the energy to keep working hard.

These workouts bring us (the participants) together as a community. Working this hard and sweating this much is an intimate experience.

We laugh a lot during these hard workouts.

If we’d done this fitness test at the beginning of the camp, I probably would have quit. Today I began with the most difficult exercise and worked as hard as I could.

I was on a plateau during week 5 and 6; but after resting Friday and Saturday and returning to working out on Sunday, both weight and body fat percentage are down today. (I’ll be interested to see how this tracks at the end of the week.)

I’m getting so much more accomplished in my life since starting this program.

I’m happy, and that’s not just the endorphins talking!
