Still Changing My Mind

I am not a fan of big changes to my eating, exercise or my daily routine. I try to make one small change at a time-usually just one change a month. The biggest change has to happen in my mind. It takes time for these changes to stay in my mind, and for me to fully accept them.

Last year, I cut way back on my daily dose of ice cream. At one point, I'd eat a 2 cup bowl of ice cream every afternoon. This comfort food brought me both comfort and higher glucose levels. I had to change my mind, and find comfort someplace else. I knew that last year's change was complete after yesterday's experience. I was about to go to the grocery store when my dear husband asked me; "would you pick up some chocolate ice cream?" I replied "no! you'll have to get it yourself if you want it!" This was a big step forward for me. I have decided not to buy food that hurts my body. I know that I'd be eating half of that half gallon!
I'm still changing my mind. I've also decided that watching TV while on the stationary bike is a great way to burn extra calories. I am limiting my couch time.
