Evaluating My Evaluation.
Saturday, March 17, 2018
Being tested, whether medically or professionally, is stressful. I work hard at being an effective teacher, and at being a healthy person. Recently I went in for a series of medical tests. One of those tests was an A1C to check the glucose level in my blood. I have been exercising regularly and eating right. I was expecting a low number, but the results were higher than I wanted. Somehow, all my good efforts did not bring the desired results. Now, I'll re-evaluate how I've spent my time and energy, and find a new plan. My A1C went up from 6.0 to 6.2. I am not happy with these results.
A person cannot be completely objective about their own health. Often what I think is going great may only be going well. It is very important, no matter how uncomfortable, to have an outside evaluation done to determine the true level of a person's health. Time to make new changes. I see my PCP on Monday!
