With thanksgiving and humility

I have been on a healthy path the last few months. With the Lord and Lent I have managed to lose some weight and a size.
Inspite of that, I had a mini stroke that only lasted 1 hour but changed my life, possibly forever. I ended up in the ER after my first ever ambulance ride then moved to the Clinical Decisions Unit. After every possible test it was determined that I had 60% blockage in my carotid artery. This took 3 days and several shifts of nurses. It was a good visit but could have been shorter. What I'll never forget is the Nurse Tech that came to my doorway and thanked ME for being such a kind and patient person all the while it was I that was grateful for their care and attention.
Two weeks later, this past Tuesday, I had my surgery to clean out my artery. My family, church friends, back home friends and online friends all praying for me. I reassured them that everything would be just fine. I do have a close relationship with my Lord. Anyway, after successful surgery, the next morning I had a visit from one of the hospital chaplains. It was awfully nice of him to come by and we had a great visit. I told him of my confidence of my surgery and my faith. He left by telling me that he was feeling a bit bummed that morning and that our visit had cheered him and enlightened his day. He thanked ME for that.
I am grateful for whatever it is that I do or say to make other feel better. It's certainly not me, but my gift from God and I thank Him for it.
Have a blessed Easter!!
