It's been a good day.
We headed out for church and picked Jeffrey up on the way. Maegann got to introduce him to her favorite adults today and they would come up to me at some point and say "He's a great kid." The two of them even volunteered to help when they can with the praise team. He will play violin and Maegann will help with the singing. The sermon today was the intro to a new series and Pastor Steve did a great job on the topic of what it looks like to be a messed up, stained church. (Nancy Jean...you will be able to see his skit once they load this one up online.)
At some point Maegann asked if Jeff could stay for lunch so the three of us decided to make spaghetti as I had nothing else ready. He then was able to stay until 7 so while Maegann did homework he helped Tim with more projects around the house. I "supervised" break times.
Maegann had a semi meltdown over a frustrating part of her report and it was good to listen to how Jeffrey handled it. At some point I heard him tell her quietly that he did not like to hear her say she doesn't like herself or that she's no good at things anymore and that he was going to do all he could to help her realize that it isn't the truth. I think he can definitely help in this area and I told him as much later during another conversation with the two of them.
Isaac was doing well for quite some time and helped with the basketball hoop project.
Jeff played 1:1 with him a couple of times during the afternoon and they talked sports at lunch. He's trying to find ways to connect with Isaac and he's been very patient with him.
Me...paid work! I got 2-3 small things finished up and then got another plan written and sent to the family to review. I have at least half a dozen due by mid May and should have about 3 finished this week.
Now the kids are in bed for the night and Tim and I caught up on "Little Big Shots" before switching to "Frasier". It was cool enough in the house tonight due to doors being open a lot this afternoon that we built a fire.
Tomorrow will be school and fun lunch with Isaac and then paid work. The amount of paid work will depend on how well the morning goes and whether school carries over into more of the afternoon.
