It's Tell a Story Day in honor of the art of oral story telling. Often, what we know of our early history is what was passed down generation to generation as folk lore. It's also Hairball Awareness Day (a reminder to us cat lovers to give our feline friends a good brushing), Marine Mammal Rescue Day, Morse Code Day, Day of Silence (a reminder of silencing effect of bullying), Arbor Day (plant a tree for the future), Babe Ruth Day, Day of Dialogue, Mantanzas Mule Day (recognition of the mule killed in Mantanzas, Cuba during the Spanish-American War in 1898), Devil Dog Cakes Day (they remind me of Suzy Q's), and Little Pampered Dog Day (spa day?).
