May 13, 2018 GREAT MOTHERS

If we were to seek out reasons for great mothers, we would possibly say they are caring, loving and giving. We may also say they are gentle and kind but firm. Great mothers may have to give up their wants and needs so their children can have happy and healthy lives. Great mothers also know the importance of training up their children in a loving and positive way. God’s word and guidance can give mothers what they need to teach a child and bring him or her up to be a responsible and godly adult.

SCRIPTURE:
Titus 2:4-5 “These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God.” (NLT)

ACTION STEPS:
1. Write about what makes a great mother.
2. List the things your mother did to help you.
3. Know God wants to teach all mothers to be godly.
4. Seek help from God to give mothers the support they need.

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, we thank You so much for our mothers. We are so grateful they chose life and they chose to raise us. We are thankful for godly mothers who teach their children about You. Help us to show our gratitude to mothers today for all the great things they do. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

REMEMBER:
Great mothers are those who love their children so much they want to teach them about what is right and good.

God wants us to be sure we are loving and kind to all children.

Being a great mother means to put ourselves last and God first so our children will know what it means to be a godly servant leader.

Giving to others and to our children will help them see the importance of not being self-centered.

When we choose to teach our children about God, we are showing them the right way to live.

FOCUS:
Proverbs 22:6 “Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.” (NLT)
